100+ PL fan orgs call for halt on price rises
Supporters’ groups from all 20 Premier League clubs have co-signed a letter calling for a two-year halt on home ticket price increases under the banner ‘Protect the Fans. Protect the Game.’
In total 115 supporter organisations and Fan Advisory Boards have spoken with one voice in an attempt to stop further rises – in 2024/25 19 Premier League clubs put their prices up while 13 of the 20 clubs did the same this season.
Signatories believe the time is right for a two-year halt, which falls within the remaining term on the current UK broadcasting deal, to enable future discussions on ticketing strategies between clubs and supporter representatives.
Supporter representatives believe there is a lack of transparency across the league on ticketing, with proper dialogue not taking place to allow supporter input on club decisions.
‘Protect the Fans. Protect the Game.’ calls on Premier League clubs to:
- Commit to a two season-long halt on home ticket price increases for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons;
- Share clear and transparent ticketing data – including prices, sales, policies, and demographics – with supporters;
- Use the two years to hold open, ongoing discussions with Fan Advisory Boards and supporter organisations on future pricing plans.
The FSA said: “We want the Premier League and clubs to work closely with us, to establish proper structures for ticketing discussion. This can’t be done overnight and it can’t easily be done under the pressure of even more price increases.
“Supporter organisations across the top-flight are increasingly concerned about pricing trends in the division. This is an issue clubs must take seriously, listen, and work with their supporters to ensure football is affordable.”
