Over to Brazil’s second tier where fallen giants Palmeiras won 3-2 against Figueirense. The game will be remembered for a cheeky Figueirense tactic which prevents gaps in the wall at free-kicks. Keepers can sleep a little easier at night.

Sad news came from China this week that former Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tioté had died from a heart attack aged just 30. During his 139 appearances for the Magpies he scored only one goal – you don’t need us to explain the backstory, just enjoy it once more. Rest in peace, Cheick.
