The Austrian season’s kicked off already and it’s off to an astonishing start with the first goal of the season scored by a keeper. SV Mattersburg v SC Wiener Neustadt was only two minutes old when the away side’s keeper Joerg Siebenhandl lined up an innocuous looking free-kick just outside his own box. One massive punt upfield later and it was nestling in the back of SV Mattersburg’s net. Who says the long ball game doesn’t work?

The start of the 2021-22 Premier League season has been marred by significant queues outside turnstiles and problems accessing grounds at clubs who have switched to digital-only ticketing.
Elite level football in England and Wales has been suspended until the end of April which will could leave a lot of football fans, who’ve booked travel and accommodation for matches in that period, out of pocket.
The BBC reports that meetings between politicians and league officials will take place this week in a bid to restart the Premier League and EFL.
