And finally… panenk-nah II

Why anyone gets involved with panenka style-penalties, despite the many high profile videos in recent years showing how risky they are, is beyond us. This week Venezuelan Brendix Parra was sacked by his club after this disastrous contribution to panenka lore – costing his side their place in the Copa Sudamericana.

And finally… panenk-nah

The panenka style penalty is a risky business – get it right and you look suave leaving the keeper scrambling. Get it wrong and you look like, well, you look like Swansea City’s Bersant Celina at the Hawthorns this week. Truly terrible.

And finally… no look

Fair to say Elfsborg defender Robert Gojani had an absolutely mare this week – scoring an own goal and getting sent off before their Allsvenskan match against Häcken was 20 minutes old. His hilarious no-look effort sent Elfsborg on their way to a 5-0 hammering. Oh dear.

And finally… Bad Dost

Sporting Lisbon rounded off a rotten week Sunday gone by losing 2-1 in the final of the Portuguese Cup. Dutch striker Bas Bost could have got his side back in the game in the 79th minute if he had of finished with the goal at his mercy…

And finally… knee bother

Estonian Super Liga side Tammeka provide us with this week’s And finally… hilarity via Andre Paju’s own goal. A true classic of the genre: long ball, panicked defending, bodged recovery. This one has a lot going for it.
