Walsall Supporters Trust (WST) have announced that an Asset of Community Value (ACV) application to protect the Banks Stadium has been granted by Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council.
The application was granted on Wednesday 2nd May 2018 and protects the land on which the Banks Stadium stands and includes associated car parks, The Saddlers Club, the artificial playing pitch and the stadium facilities.
WST were successful in their application because of the current/actual use of the land and its facilities. The land is deemed to further the social wellbeing and interests of the local community.
The listing of the Banks’ Stadium as an ACV is in the best interests of the future of the club and the community around it and its another example of the work a supporters trust does to protect the football club in its community.
