Are non-league fans up for FA Cup replays?

As 224 non-league clubs turn their attention to the first round qualifying of the FA Cup this weekend, we want to know what fans, supporters’ groups and community clubs lower down the pyramid think about having replays in those early rounds.

This follows the announcement in April 2024 that replays would be dropped from the first round onwards. If decisions are made on the earlier rounds of the competition, we feel it is vital that fans have a voice in that process, which is why we are launching this survey.

Fans in the lower leagues enjoy FA Cup days and the excitement of progressing through the early stages of the world’s oldest knockout competition just as much as those with an eye on winning at Wembley in May.

“It’s important that fans have a say on this important decision. Across the pyramid, FA Cup replays have created magical memories which have enriched our beautiful game,” said Matthew Kempson of the FSA National Council (representative for the National Game Network).

“The earlier rounds still offer much sparkle and excitement to the thousands of football fans, as they hope to progress and draw a bigger club from a higher league.

“Following the disappointing announcement from the FA last year, it’s now time for fans lower down the pyramid to have their say”.

Fans, supporters’ groups and community clubs are encouraged to complete this survey to express your views, and your answers will inform the FSA’s dialogue with the FA on the issue.
