Asian Football Awards 2024: FSA members recognised
Last month the Asian Football Awards were held to recognise the work of the South Asian community in football – and three FSA member groups were celebrated at the event.
Three of our affiliate and associate members were up for Fan Group of the Year at the awards held at Wembley stadium at the end of September: the Bangla Bantams, Blues 4 All, and Punjabi Villans.
Punjabi Villans were eventually crowned as Fan Group of the Year in a category decided by public vote.

Former-FSA staff member Anwar Uddin was also recognised for his work with the FA, who received a Inclusion Project Award for their Faith in Football scheme, which promotes South Asian inclusion across the game.
Baljit Rihal, founder of the Asian Football Awards, said: “It was amazing seeing so many people from across the South Asian community who are involved in the world of football here in the UK.
“We are glad that, through the awards platform, we are able to amplify their voices so that their stories can inspire future generations.
“The support from the major football organisations in the UK was a show of unity for the South Asian under-representation cause.”
