Aylesbury United to enter community ownership
Aylesbury United have announced that the club is to move into community ownership following a deal between the owners, local business and supporters’ trust.
The majority of shares in the Buckinghamshire club are due to be taken over by a new group led by local business owners, who are setting up as a community interest company (CIC). 21CD, the Aylesbury United Supporters Trust, will retain a minority shareholding and will work alongside the group.
“This transition represents more than a change in ownership — it signals a renewed commitment to transparency, financial responsibility, and putting Aylesbury at the heart of its football club,” the club said.
The new community-led structure aims to strengthen the club’s connection with supporters, rebuild pride across the town, and create a sustainable platform for future growth both on and off the pitch.
The Aylesbury United Supporters Trust has welcomed the move, describing it as a defining moment for the club’s future.
21CD chair Andy Martin said: “This is a moment of real opportunity for our football club. Community ownership gives us the chance to protect what matters, strengthen our connection with the town, and build something sustainable for future generations.
“We invite every supporter — past and present — to stand with us as we shape this new chapter. Let’s rebuild the pride, restore the atmosphere, and move forward as one club, one community. This is a new beginning. Together.”
The club currently play in the Southern League Division One Central at The Meadow ground in Chesham, and have been ground-sharing at a number of clubs since they were evicted from their Buckingham Road stadium in Aylesbury in 2006.

“We have been proud to stand alongside them in ensuring that the ownership of the club’s badge, a key piece of heritage, is now returned into the hands of the club.
“The FSA fully endorses moving the club into community ownership and we will continue to support the club as it seeks to move back home to the town of Aylesbury and to ensure that all members of the community benefit from having its football club back.”
