With all the focus on South Africa it’s easy to forget there’ll actually be tournaments after the World Cup. Euro 2012 takes place in Poland-Ukraine and Uefa have today finalised England’s Group G qualification draw.
Interesting that there are some Friday fixtures in there for both nations. Apparently all FA’s have the option to play games on the Friday, instead of the Saturday, and it looks likely that may be taken up. While that’s good for watching in the pub with your mates it does mean an extra day off work for many England and Wales regulars.
We’re dissapointed that Uefa (via Football Supporters Europe), the FA, and the FAW didn’t consult us prior to taking the decision. It was with sadness that the FSA received yesterday's announcement that the Queen had died peacefully at Balmoral. Following that news, the football authorities today said that, from the Premier League down to the grassroots game, football matches would be postponed.
