This is a story from the FSF archive – the FSF and SD merged to become the FSA in 2019.
Nationwide Building Society, the England team sponsor is running another England fans’ forum, enabling selected supporters to have the opportunity to meet with and chat to an England player. The event promises to be a relatively intimate affair, with the chance to ask a member of Fabio Capello’s first team squad a question or two, and get an autograph or two.
As you may remember, Nationwide ran a successful series of fans’ forums last year, at which England fans got acquainted with some of the national team’s players and management. And this year’s event will take place somewhere in the North London/Essex area next week.
Nationwide are somewhat restricted in the extent to which they can publicise the forum, as they are unable to name either the player or club they play for – but, rest assured, it is a member the current England squad!
The event is taking place on Thursday 8 May, 1PM- 3PM and will be staged in the North London/Essex area. Places are obviously strictly limited, but if YOU are able to make it to the North London area on Thursday 8 May and would like to meet and put a question to, an England player please email [email protected] with the word “forum” in the subject title box. Please also include the name of the team you support (if you support one particular club) and include your all your contact details. Fans will be chosen to attend on a first come first serve basis.
You will be informed no later than 4pm on Wednesday, May 7, if you have been selected. Nationwide’s decision is final, and if you have not received notification from them by that deadline you will not be receiving an invitation on this occasion. Should you be lucky enough to be invited along to the forum, Nationwide will then provide further information on players who will be attending, and the venue itself. Please note – Transport and accommodation costs are NOT included.
