This is a story from the FSF archive – the FSF and SD merged to become the FSA in 2019.
Chair of The FA David Bernstein is to address the FSF/SD Supporters Summit on Saturday 22nd June at The FA’s training base at Burton-upon-Trent. Tickets for the event are available from only £15 and include a free tour of St George’s Park.
David Bernstein said: “Supporters are one of the vital parts that makes our national game what it is, and I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to be part of this event at The FA’s new national training base – especially in The FA’s 150th year. I look forward to meeting and talking with delegates and representatives on the day.”
The event will be hosted jointly by Supporters Direct and the Football Supporters’ Federation, and will see a series of workshops covering issues from the Twenty’s Plenty campaign on cutting the cost of away ticket prices, to the sustainability of football, protecting football stadia, and fan engagement.
Kevin Miles, Chief Executive of the FSF, said: “We welcome the opportunity to work with Supporters Direct to tackle the issues that affect fans. This is the time for supporters to get involved and help shape current and future campaigns. The Supporters Summit offers a unique stage for fans to come together, share ideas and change things for the better.”
David Lampitt, Chief Executive of SD, said: “I’m delighted that David Bernstein has committed to attend our joint event with the FSF and we’re grateful to him for hosting us at St George’s Park. There is still much to do to improve the governance and regulation of our national game and it will be great for fans to have the opportunity to meet, speak to and ask questions of The FA’s Chairman.
“The event is already going to be the best attended conference we’ve ever held outside of London, and demand for spaces at the Summit is limited so we would encourage supporters to register as soon as possible.”

UEFA’s president Aleksander Čeferin has apologised to supporters over the failures of organisation seen at 2022’s Champions League final and says the governing body has “learned from past mistakes” – while issuing a call to arms to supporters to help tackle racism and abuse of match officials.
The FSA works with two organisations, Football Supporters (FSE) and SD Europe, to represent and promote the interests of football supporters at European level. To keep FSA members up to date on that work, we’ve rounded up some highlights below from our friends at FSE and SD Europe…
Last month we held our first #TerraceTalk panel event hosted by Anwar Uddin (FSA Fans for Diversity lead) and Chris Paouros (FSA National Council). It’s part of the wider #TerraceTalk campaign which is a supporter-led mental health campaign you can find out more about here.
