Following the FA’s approval of reforms to its governance a supporter representative is being sought to sit on the FA Council – and the deadline for applications is this week.
Reform of the FA Council means that the number supporter representatives will increase from one to two – FSF chair Malcolm Clarke has been the sole supporter representative on the Council since 2007.
The second FA Council supporter representative will be nominated by Supporters Direct and they are seeking applications before Friday 2nd June.
“It will be great for the supporters’ team on the FA Council to be strengthened by the additional representative,” Malcolm said.
“I look forward to working with that person not only to promote specifically the supporters’ agenda but also for both representatives to play a role in the wider issues of football and be recognised as an important part of the football family.”
Supporters Direct will be forming a selection committee who, they say, will select their nominee from “current Supporters Direct work structures” but welcome any applications from other candidates.
