Fans for Diversity campaign links up with Palace

This is a story from the FSF archive – the FSF and SD merged to become the FSA in 2019.

Crystal Palace and the Fans for Diversity campaign, run by the FSF and Kick It Out, are joining together to host an event which will see a panel of experts discuss the current issues and challenges surrounding discrimination in football.

The event will be hosted by former Charlton Athletic, Aston Villa and Palace defender Paul Mortimer. He’ll be joined on the panel by Crystal Palace defender Damien Delaney, comedian and Palace supporter Kevin Day, Steph Fuller from Proud & Palace, the FSF’s Anwar Uddin and Mark Osikoya, who has a role in Global Partnerships with the NBA.

Anwar said: “I think it’s brilliant that Crystal Palace are taking proactive measures and hosting an evening which will allow us to look at how the club can continue to become more inclusive.

“I’m proud that Fans For Diversity can play a role in opening up the conversation around diversity and inclusion at a major Premier League club, and look forward to working with Palace closely in the future.”

The event will be held at Selhurst Park on Thursday 22nd March and is free to attend, and gives people the opportunity to hear from those within football about diversity in football.

Doors open at 6.00pm with the debate starting at 6.30pm and ending at 8.30pm. Ticket availability will be limited and must be booked in advance.
