Free currency card for travelling fans

This is a story from the FSF archive – the FSF and SD merged to become the FSA in 2019.

We’ve teamed-up with international payments and currency card providers FairFx to offer a free currency card for travelling football fans.

The card can help fans save money compared to using a traditional debit or credit card when spending overseas – FairFX say they average saving versus airports or the high street is 8% and 5%.

Free to FSF members, the currency card has the following benefits:

  • Great Euro rates with no transaction or management fees
  • Chip and PIN secure Mastercard
  • Re-usable for any trip
  • Check balance anywhere online or via FairFX’s free app

FairFX pre-loaded currency cards provide an alternative to carrying large amounts of cash when watching football abroad, or your own bank cards, which can get lost or stolen.

The card can be ordered online and is free when pre-loaded with £50.
