Free Lions statement: England fans in Naples

Yesterday England played Italy in Naples and many supporters have relayed serious concerns about their treatment – particularly regarding transport and logitistics. Our Free Lions Fans’ Embassy team, who were on the ground assisting travelling England supporters, have issued the following statement today:

“The England Fans’ Embassy has experienced, witnessed, and received reports of problems around last nights game in Naples, with supporters stressing their concerns over buses to and from the stadium, as well as incidents outside the away section.

“We will be making representations to Football Supporters Europe regarding the organisation from local authorities in charge of this fixture. We believe there have been serious failures which have impacted the safety and welfare of England Supporters.

“We will continue to work closely with The FA as well as the UK Football Policing Unit who were also on the ground in Naples working for the benefit of supporters.”
