Welcome to the second newsletter of 2020 – which will of course be concentrating on the build up to Euro 2020 but we’ll first be looking at the minutes of our recent meeting with the Welsh FA (FAW).
We appreciate your support and value your input into all decisions we make, any questions can be sent to Paul Corkrey.
Coronavirus
Many members have been in touch concerned that there is a possibility that the Euro 2020 finals may get cancelled, postponed, moved from where they are currently scheduled to be played.
This week games in Italy have been cancelled or played behind closed doors, other European countries are also reporting outbreaks in their cities, however, the UK government has not stopped international travel but are offering advice, so check out the FCO travel advice as often as possible.
Being a fans’ organisation we will keep asking for updates from all our sources, but in the meantime, we will continue with all our plans in preparation for the tournament. Ironically, we have a pre-visit arranged for Rome in late March, so will take advice on that.
The most important thing you can all do is make sure you have the best travel insurance available, read your current policy and see if its suitable to cover all your needs. This is a massive event and UEFA will do everything to make it run smoothly, but it’s the right thing to be cautious, keep an eye on the situation and be prepared for any outcome.
Minutes of the FAW-FSA Cymru Meeting, Cardiff
We recently met with FAW to discuss a range of issues likely to impact Wales fans ahead of Euro 2020 – such as ticketing and security – and the pre-tournament friendlies the association is planning. You can now download the minutes of that meeting below.
A Welsh language version of the minutes will follow shortly.

Welcome to FSA Cymru’s December 2020 update…
Following news stories last week that emerged after UEFA contacted ticketholders for Euro 2020 with a change to its refund policy, concerns had grown that fans faced missing out on refunds if games were played behind closed doors, or had their venue changed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Football Supporters Europe (FSE), of which the FSA is a member, wrote to UEFA requesting clarification. Today FSE have reported UEFA’s response:
Welcome to FSA Cymru’s June update which looks ahead to the European Championships for Wales fans, fans embassies and more…
