FSA-Northumberland FA partnership helps non-league clubs

Northumberland FA and the Football Supporters Association (FSA) have announced a new partnership which aims to support non-league clubs.

The project will see the two organisations work together to support clubs affiliated to the Northumberland FA who currently play in the National League system.

A series of workshops and training courses will be delivered by the FSA on topics such as club governance, fan development and business planning.

Kevin Miles, chief executive of the FSA, said: “Supporting clubs in the National League system with their governance and sustainability is a key pillar of our work.

“We are committed to ensuring clubs at all levels of the pyramid thrive, and this partnership with the Northumberland FA enables us to work towards that goal more effectively.”

The objective of the programme is to ensure that the county FA gives support to its member clubs, ensuring that they are operating on a sound financial footing, are sustainable and continue to be thriving community assets across the county.

Andrew Cook, CEO Northumberland FA said: “In 2024, Northumberland FA committed to shaping a quality offer for the National League system clubs affiliated to the County FA.

“We are aware that these clubs require bespoke support, and we firmly believe that through partnering with the FSA we are taking the first steps to achieving this key objective.

“We consider that the expertise provided by the FSA will be of great benefit to the clubs in the region and we hope all of our National League System clubs will engage with the programme when it launches.”

The first workshops will be delivered in December 2025.

Any clubs wishing to participate should contact Dave Jones at Northumberland FA.
