FSA statement: Christmas and New Year 2025 TV selections
On Friday 31st October, the Premier League announced its latest TV selections covering the Christmas and New Year period. Only one Premier League game will be taking place on Boxing Day – at 8pm – and the league outlined the reasons for its scheduling here. The FSA issued the following statement in response:
“Matchgoing fans are simply fed-up of unsociable kick-off times – 8pm kick-offs on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day show that TV is prioritised above all else. The scales must be rebalanced.
“To compound the issue, it has taken an extra two weeks to come up with these TV selections, as we still await the announcement of the rest of January, football fans deserve better.”
