FSF Awards 2014: Podcast/Radio Show of the Year

This is a story from the FSF archive – the FSF and SD merged to become the FSA in 2019.

The Football Supporters’ Federation Awards in association with William Hill have been announced, have your say and vote here. In the build-up to the awards, we look at each category individually…

Voting is open now – to cast your votes, visit: www.fsf.org.uk/awards

Podcast/Radio show of the Year:

  • The Football Ramble – The standard bearer for independent football podcasts, it’s been around for so long now it’s part of the furniture. The foursome of Marcus, Luke, Jim and Pete love their football, but don’t take it too seriously, and their infectious enthusiasm comes across with each broadcast.
  • Football Weekly – Regularly topping the iTunes charts for downloads, the Guardian’s twice-weekly offering is a big hitter in every respect. Covering domestic and world football with expert analysis from a rotating cast of great journalists, it never fails to please.
  • The Monday Night Club – Regularly fronted by the effortless Mark Chapman, the Monday Night Club has become a fixture in the 5Live schedules, with build-up to midweek fixtures and discussions on the weekend’s news with a rotating cast of pundits including John Motson.
  • The Sound of Football – A labour of love from its three co-hosts, the Sound of Football is now in its sixth year and just passed the milestone of its 200th episode. Focussing on issues and personalities rather than results and league tables, it continues to go from strength to strength in its sixth year.
  • The Tuesday Club – One of the most nominated entries in the category, this pod on the goings on at Arsenal is one of the biggest and best club-specific efforts around. Alan Davies (yes, him off of QI) is joined by a rotating cast including regulars Tayo Popoola and Ian Stone to discuss all things gunners with wit and humour.
  • The Warm Up – Fronted by Johnny Vaughan on Saturdays and Max Rushden on Sundays, talkSPORT’s light-hearted look at the weekend fixtures, with a healthy dose of good interviews, never fails to amuse and entertain in equal measure.

Voting is open now – to cast your votes, visit: www.fsf.org.uk/awards

Voting will close at midday on Monday 24th November, with the winners announced at our awards dinner on Monday 1st December at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London.
