Barcelona and Zagreb should be familiar to regular England followers as they visited both in the doomed Euro 2008 qualifying campaign, with neither bringing especially fond memories.

October 2006 saw England slip to a 2-0 defeat with goals from Eduardo and, famously, Gary Neville via Paul Robinson’s comedy miskick. Although the pitch didn’t exactly help him, it set something of a downward spiral for Robinson who’s never fully recovered his reputation.

England last played away to Andorra in March 2007. The Andorrans play many of their ties, including the upcoming game, in Barcelona, on ‘neutral’ territory. As with the last fixture between the two sides, this will be played at the EstadiOlimpic. Although England eventually won that fixture 3-0 it was from from comfortable with the game still tied at half-time.

As with Robinson in Croatia, this was a game where many turned on McClaren before Steve Gerrard popped up with a brace and David Nugent scored from about six inches with his only goal on his only England appearance.
