MPs football group tackles homophobia in football

Promoting LGBT+ representation and combatting discrimination in football (Thursday 13th May, 1pm)

To mark this year’s International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, both the All-Party Parliamentary Groups for Football Supporters and for Global LGBT+ Rights invites FSA members to a joint panel on LGBT+ representation, and combatting discrimination, in football. The panel will take place on Thursday 13th May from 1pm and will last around one hour.

  • Damian Collins MP, former chair of the CMS Committee (publisher of the ‘Homophobia in Sport’ report)
  • Chris Paouros, co-chair of Proud Lilywhites and Kick It Out trustee
  • Luke Tuffs, manager of Ashford Town (Middlesex) Football Club
  • (Moderator) Anwar Uddin, Fans for Diversity campaign manager at the Football Supporters’ Association

The panellists will discuss their work on the football pitch, in fan clubs and in Parliament, to combat discrimination on football grounds and promote the inclusion of LGBT+ players, officials and supporters, followed by a Q&A session with MPs, peers and invited FSA members.
