National Supporters Survey 2023 launched

Every few years we conduct a national fans survey to assess the state of the game and the views of football supporters  – and you can fill in the 2023 FSA National Supporters Survey here

The last of these fans’ censuses was conducted in 2017, to which more than 8,000 fans from across the football pyramid gave their opinions.

A lot has happened in the six years since we last polled supporters – the introduction of VAR, the COVID-19 pandemic, the spectre of the European Super League raising its head and the subsequent Fan-led Review of football governance to name but a few major impacts on our game.

As such, we felt it was time to take the temperature of football fans again.

The 2017 football fan – what did we think?

These ‘state of the nation’ surveys not only help the FSA in terms of giving us insight into the things that you find important to help shape our campaigns, they are also a useful snapshot in time to look back on and chart fans’ changing opinions.

Back in our 2017 survey, would you believe a large majority of supporters agreed that video technology should be used to help referees in game-changing decisions (74.6%)? Our subsequent VAR survey found support for the technology has vanished since its implementation.

Take part!

Despite being a comprehensive survey covering a range of topics, it should take the average user only around ten minutes to complete.

The results of the survey will be published at the end of season.
