How many football fans out there know what the Independent Football Ombudsman (IFO) is and how the IFO can help? Not enough in our opinion.

This is a story from the FSF archive – the FSF and SD merged to become the FSA in 2019.
Free Lions 97 and 98 covered England’s crucial, era-defining, all or nothing World Cup qualifiers away to Ukraine and home to Belarus. Ok, ok – they weren’t exactly make or break but that doesn’t mean you want to miss out on either issue.
Free Lions 97 was handed out during England’s trip to Ukraine and features the usual views straight from the mouth of McNally, the Sunday Mirror’s top-class football correspondent, alongside the usual quizzes and crosswords. It’s fair to say that if you’ve ever wanted to know all about Ukraine’s third-largest city Dnipropetrovsk (and let’s face it – who the hell hasn’t?) then this is the issue for you.
As most England fans tend to know London and Wembley, Free Lions 98 (England v Belrus) focuses instead on the Three Lions’ next trip to Doha. This is going to be one of England’s most unusual trips yet as Qatar is one of the more conservative Muslim countries and the laws against alcohol consumption are extremely strict. Pork products, religious texts and pornography are banned too – that’s the Fans’ Embassy team travelling light then.
That’s not all though – there’s also a special Free Lions investigation into FIFA’s outrageous ticketing arrangements that see ‘approved tour operators’ receiving more tickets to every England game than their own fans officialy will. Scandalous.

For almost 25 years now, the Free Lions team have been following England home and away providing England fans with on-the-ground support and information through our Fans’ Embassy service. They’re no strangers to the controversies surrounding the Three Lions’ support and today have issued the following comment on the pre-match booing of the England players before their fixture against Romania…
England are back on the road this week as they head off to the principality of Andorra for their World Cup qualifying campaign – and the Free Lions Fans’ Embassy team will be on hand to help fans making the trip.
England are back on the road this coming weekend as their World Cup qualifying campaign continues – this time against the small nation state of San Marino.
