The chair of the Fan-led Review has targeted the next Queen’s Speech for the implementation of her report’s recommendations – and says she would be disappointed if it wasn’t delivered in that time frame.

Last week the Queen’s Birthday Honours were announced and included among them was a British Empire Medal for former-chair of Supporters Direct, one of the predecessor organisations of the FSA, and Brentford fan Brian Burgess.
Congratulating Brian on his award, chair of the FSA Malcolm Clarke said:
“We are delighted to congratulate Brian Burgess, former chair of Supporters Direct, one of the founding partners of the FSA, on the richly deserved award of The British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
“Brian has made a great contribution to football over many years, including not only his leadership of Supporters Direct, but also through his work at Brentford FC, where he has been heavily involved in the development of the new ground. Well done Brian.”

The Government took another step towards fixing football governance by committing to create a new independent regulator for English football in today’s Queen’s Speech.
Two supporter-owned clubs will be going head-to-head in a prestigious pre-season game in July’s Brian Lomax Cup.
The Brian Lomax Cup takes place every pre-season and celebrates the role of supporter-owned football clubs. The first winner was in 2002 when AFC Wimbledon beat Enfield Town 3-2. The cup is named after Brian Lomax – considered to be the founding father of the supporters’ trust movement. He sadly passed away in 2015.
