After a career which encompassed an astonishing 309 goals in 440 games the one and only Ronaldo (that’s the Brazilian version, kids) has announced his retirement. The debate will forever rage over who was the best ever and it’ll never be truly settled – but it’s a fun one to have. Do you judge on long-term impact or short-term fireworks? If it’s the latter, then Ronaldo is in with a shout because between 1994-98ish he was almost untouchable.
