SD welcome FA review on stadia ownership

Amongst the crowded space in the days leading up to a World Cup was a story that should give every supporters trust and supporter of the game hope for the future.
The FA and Government announced that they will start a review into the ownership of football stadiums which will inform what guidance and advice is needed to better secure the protection of club assets.
Supporters Direct have for many years been working with our member trusts to help save and protect football grounds and have used our unique position to make recommendations and support changes that better protect stadia and other club assets. In recent months we have been working closely with Government on proposals and we are very pleased that these have been progressed with the FA committing to leading this review.
Although the issues came into sharp focus with the problems at Dulwich Hamlet and Champion Hill, this is a problem that is prevalent not just in the non-league but at all levels of the football pyramid as we highlighted in an article earlier in the year here
The FA will lead the review and will report recommendations back to the Sports Minister, Tracey Crouch and her fellow MPs next year.
