tfs 019 is out now, and there’s just something about the turn of the year, the end of the season being in sight and the potential of a little trip to Wembley that raises our spirits. Of course, by this time of the season, all hopes are usually dashed, but that doesn’t stop us all being mugs for the cups.

This issue of tfs, if you hadn’t guessed, is a cup special, and we’ve got FSF favourite Jonathan Wilson reporting on the organisational farce that was this year’s African Cup of Nations, while tfs’s own Jez Robinson keeps his focus closer to home with what happens when it all goes wrong in the FA Cup, and a look at the domestic cup scene past and present.

But wait, there’s more!

We’ve also got an in-depth interview with outgoing Football League chairman Lord Mawhinney, a look ahead to the World Cup and how England are sure to triumph (we’ve scientifically tested this one), as well as all the usual bits and bobs, fun and games, letters, news and nonsense.

If you’re not a member of the FSF then join today, and you will be entitled to receive a free copy of tfs delivered direct to your door. Alternatively, become a fan of us on Facebook (below) where we regularly give away free copies.

If you want to make sure you get your hands on every copy of tfs (and we can’t say we blame you), then head along to our shop where annual subscriptions start from as little as £15.

Quite frankly, you’d be mad not to get one.

ICYMI: Lilongwe out

Check out this goal and a half from Malawi’s Gabadinho Mhango in the opening minutes of their recent AFCON game against Morocco. Sadly for The Flames, the strike wasn’t enough to prevent a 2-1 defeat and exit in the Round of 16, but they’ll always have the memories of this outrageous strike.
