VAR survey – have your say!

We’re launching our second national VAR survey to gather the opinions of supporters in the Premier League about the continued implementation of the technology.

We’re calling on supporters of all Premier League clubs to tell us how they feel about the use of VAR in the division since its introduction.

While this survey is aimed at Premier League supporters, and their specific experience of VAR, we plan to follow this work up with surveys on VAR and refereeing in both the EFL and women’s game.

Why now?

The Premier League’s VAR system was introduced at the start of the 2019-20 season and the FSA has consulted our membership during that time on its use.

FIFA and the International Football Association Board (IFAB) have recently been in discussions about expanding the remit of VAR, so it’s an appropriate time to once again consult supporters on its use.

FSA Premier League network manager Thomas Concannon said: “Over recent seasons we’ve been in constant dialogue with the Premier League and PGMO on VAR, relaying supporters’ views on the technology.

“We want those discussions to be as informed as possible, that’s why we’re urging fans to give their views and complete our survey.”
