Who gets your nod for non-league away day of the year?
The FSA has once again teamed up with the Non-League Paper to sponsor its Non-league Away Day of the Year Award, and nominations are open now.
We want to acknowledge and celebrate those clubs who go the extra mile in welcoming visiting supporters; without away fans, grounds are far quieter, less vibrant places.
A noisy and colourful away following will often spark home supporters into generating the kind of atmosphere that makes even a mediocre game more of an event.
Away support is arguably even more important to the non-league game as the extra revenue and atmosphere generated by away fans can have a significant impact on the financial health of the clubs.
How will the award work?
We recognise that resources vary at different levels of the game and we are therefore inviting nominations at each of Steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the National League system for consideration.
The overall winner of last year’s award were Falmouth Town.
A judging panel will decide the winning club at each level, and the winners will each be considered for the overall award, which will be presented at the Non-League Paper’s National Game Awards event after the season.
