Yorkshire Division to meet this Thursday (Hillsborough)

This is a story from the FSF archive – the FSF and SD merged to become the FSA in 2019.

The FSF’s Yorkshire Division is meeting this Thursday December 10th (7pm) at Hillsborough, Sheffield, and they’re trying something a little different too. The Division has hooked up with Yorkshire England Supporters (YES) as the timing of this meeting – with England’s three group games now known and ticketing arrangements about to be confirmed – makes it the perfect platform to discuss the latest news.

Domestic issues will still be discussed at this meeting though so if you have any club specific topics you’d like to raise, don’t be put off.

Speakers at the Yorkshire Division’s fans’ forum will include:

  • The FSF’s Kevin Miles who coordinates all of our international work including the Nationwide FSF Fans’ Embassy and Free Lions. Kevin has been across to South Africa for the draw and will update those in attendance on all the challenges fans face. If you want an unbiased and honest view from a fans perspective then Kev’s your man!
  • The FA will be sending send a representative, identity TBC. Rest assured whoever it is will be able to answer all your ticketing questions and provide specific advice on the application process.
  • Last but by no means least Paul Campbell of Travel Butlers, who specialise in trips to South Africa and providing cars, coaches, hotels etc will be at the meeting. As well as offering valuable advice on safety, transport and accomodation based on a wealth of experience, including work with rugby and cricket fans, he even knows a few non-football related things to do in South Africa too!

The meeting will then move on to other FSF topics and divisional matters with discussions around the 2018 World Cup bid and an update on the Conference motion submitted by the Yorkshire Division. There will also be a look at national FSF policy issues, particularly those relating to ticket pricing, and more.

If you have any other questions or would like to see something added to the agenda please email Alan Bloore. You can also see August’s Yorkshire Division minutes via this link.

Lastly, if you are planning on visiting South Africa for the coming World Cup do not go without visiting the FSF’s Guide to South Africa 2010.
