Constitution
Ideally your group should have some form of governing document, articles, rules or constitution which lays out your purpose and the structure of your group.
Your constitution doesn’t need to be too complicated, it should explain what you are about and how people can become a part of it.

Side Policies
Your group will be governed by your constitution, articles or rules but we recommend that you adopt a suite of side policies which help you on an operational level. Side policies help you put in place processes to follow for things like elections or disciplinary, they also help you lay out expectations of board members or explain how meetings should be conducted.
In short, the rules tell you what to do and the policies tell you how to do it!.
Make sure your policies are up to date and available to be viewed on your website if you have one.
