The FSA’s work is wide-ranging and often requires a strong empirical evidence base to take into discussions with football and governmental stakeholders.
We believe there is great potential for collaborative work between the FSA and academia to support this and we have developed our Areas of Research Interest document which identifies FSA priorities.

How we can help you
We are committed to working in partnership with academics and we have a comprehensive package of support. Here’s how we can help you:
- Supporting funding bids as a partner or industry agency;
- For funded projects, we can assist with distribution of surveys and questionnaires and identification of interviewees for qualitative research;
- For dissertation students, we can provide the opportunity for interviews with staff members to enhance their study from leading practitioners;
- Provide in person or online guest speakers to enhance modules;
- The FSA facilitates an academic network where we bring together academics working in football research to collaborate and share research.

As academics, researchers and programme and module leaders we understand you will be pursuing your own research interests or supervising postgraduate or undergraduate dissertations and projects. Increasingly it is being asked that the projects and research have a link with industry.
