This week, we have one of the most composed own goals you’re likely to see. Michael Durán, of Costa Rican side Guanacasteca delights the crowd behind the goal with this effort, a cruel, yet hilarious addition to their 3-1 loss at Puntarenas. We reckon this gives Jamie Pollock’s classic in Manchester City vs QPR a run for its money…

Sad news came from China this week that former Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tioté had died from a heart attack aged just 30. During his 139 appearances for the Magpies he scored only one goal – you don’t need us to explain the backstory, just enjoy it once more. Rest in peace, Cheick.

The USA met neighbours Mexico in a World Cup qualifier this week. Finishing 1-1 the game got off to an excellent start with this fantastic long-range lob from Toronto FC midfielder Michael Bradley, who you may remember from a three game loan stint at Aston Villa in 2011. No?
