Chelsea winger Pedro scored a delightful little goal against an Austrian side owned by a large soft drink brand in a largely meaningless pre-season friendly tournament this week. His smart finish from Ross Barkley’s cross put the West London side 4-1 up. Well done that man.

One of Portugal’s bigger names, Benfica, lost 2-0 away to Portimonense this week, thanks to two own goals. The second, from Brazilian Jardel, was a real peach and he now becomes the club’s record own-goal scorer with four.

And finally… anti-Mata

Jaime Mata had a glorious opportunity to get something for little old Getafe against Barcelona this week, with his side trailing 2-1 in the later stages at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez but alas the Spanish forward made a total hash of it.

Portuguese Primeira Liga side Tondela are the stars of this week’s And finally… with four of the green and yellow striped knackers conspiring to miss an open goal against Chaves. The main culprit, however, has to be forward Cristian Arango with some very ropey finishing. Incidentally – they lost.

And finally… Pepehands

Lille’s Nicolas Pepe is our latest entrant into the dodgey penalty section of the And finally… archive seen her dragging his shot meekly wide against Amiens. The penalty looked a bit iffy, with hints of a dive, so maybe it was for the best.
