The A-League’s Melbourne derby provides us with a classic of the open-goal-miss genre this week. James Troisi somehow failed to pass the ball into an empty net on the break. Sadly, it mattered not as his team won seconds later.
This is some recovery from Argentinian goalkeeper Agustín Marchesín in the CONCACAF Champions League this week. Lobbed from distance, being caught off his line, but he doesn’t give up. Amazing recovery.
Al Gharafa’s Medhi Taremi provides us with another high quality entry into the And finally… library of hilarious misses this week. Latching onto a through ball, Taremi gets passed a lunging goalkeeper only to feebly miss in the end. At least he tried.
