You’ve probably all seen it by now, but it’s so good we thought it worth another airing. Behold, James Milner’s fantastic own goal for Liverpool in their Champions League semi-final victory this week. A real gem.
How hard is it to score unopposed from 12 yards? Well, as FC Nantes’ Emiliano Sala shows, it’s easy to put just a little bit too much power on it – sending his penalty into low earth orbit. To rub salt into the wounds, they’d go on to lose 2-0 to Montpellier. Watch your head Commander Hadfield.
Fair to say Elfsborg defender Robert Gojani had an absolutely mare this week – scoring an own goal and getting sent off before their Allsvenskan match against Häcken was 20 minutes old. His hilarious no-look effort sent Elfsborg on their way to a 5-0 hammering. Oh dear.
