We were tempted to bring you some sublime skills in this week’s …and finally – we thought we’d probably been a bit unfair on the pros in recent weeks, only highlighting their cock-ups and ridiculous clangers, and that perhaps showing you the odd belting goal would do something to redress the balance.
But then we saw this defender scoring an own-goal with his backside from 15 yards, and all those thoughts went straight out the window!
Vitor Hugo is the offending party, scoring for Portuguesa de Desportos against his own Santo Andre in the Brazilian second division. Bravo, Vitor.

Football reform was once again up for debate in Parliament as a whole host of football figures appeared in front of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee – including Kevin Miles, Chief Executive of the Football Supporters’ Association.
This week’s #ICYMI comes courtesy of the League of Ireland First Division clash between Longford Town and Galway United, as defender Michael McDonnell gifts the visitors the perfect start just 11 minutes in. His blushes would be ultimately spared, however, as the home side ran out 2-1 winners in the end. My my my, what a Galway goal.
