Derbyshire event for LGBTQ+ supporters
FSA members the Rainbow Rams and Rainbow Spireites are inviting supporters to an event later this month on the future of LGBTQ+ football.
Hosted at Chesterfield FC’s SMH Stadium the “Rainbow Goals – Derbyshire Together” event will bring together football clubs, community organisations and supporter groups to explore the LGBTQ+ experience of football across Derbyshire.
The session aims to encourage conversation and positive action, supporting clubs and organisations in their work opening up football for all.
Co-founder of Rainbow Rams Connor Ffrench said: “This event is backed by the Derbyshire FA and will have representatives from Derby County and Chesterfield and Derbyshire FA along with others on a range of panels to look at LGBTQIA+ in football in Derbyshire and how we look to the future.
“The idea is to bring the County together in one voice against homophobia in football, culminating in a charter or statement that the clubs can sign up. This is the first of its kind and we hope it has a lasting impact.”
The event will be on Friday 20th February from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. Sign-up here.
