Free Lions’ Guide to Berlin

This is a story from the FSF archive – the FSF and SD merged to become the FSA in 2019.

With England taking a trip to Berlin on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, we’ve been plugging away to produce our usual city guide.

Split up into easy-to-read sections our Guide to Berlin gives handy hints on travel plans, hotels, and crucial matchday information.

But that’s not all, we never forget the essentials, there’s plenty in there on where to get a decent pint and bite to eat as well.

This is the second friendly in just over a year that England have faced Germany in. Frank Lampard’s early goal at Wembley against the Germans in August 2007 didn’t stop England slumping to a 2-1 defeat.

On that occasion we did bounce with a hat-trick of 3-0 victories against Israel, Russia, and Estonia, although they’ve largely been forgotten because of the infamous defeats to Russia and Croatia which cost the brolly his job. Germany, meanwhile, went on to reach the final of Euro 2008 before succumbing to the Spanish.

Under Capello, however, England appear to be making far lighter work of qualifying. So we can sit back, enjoy a break from qualification, and make the most of the opportunities that a trip to Berlin brings.
