FSF Tweets, Flickr and SMS alerts

This is a story from the FSF archive – the FSF and Supporters Direct merged to become the FSA in 2019 – so this page may contain hyperlinks that do not work and/or have missing files. Our archived pages are not maintained and will not be updated.

If you are seeking a document regarding training or the development of your supporters’ organisation, please visit the live training and resource section of our website. if you need further assistance email: [email protected]

Along with our new, sparkly, England Fans’ Guide to South Africa website which we launched back in December we’ve also set up Twitter and Flickr feeds for the multi-media minded among you.

You can visit our Twitter feed @FSF_FreeLions where we’ll be tweeting anything that catches our eye along with general FSF updates. Feel free to let us know who we should be following too!

Another idea we had was to start a World Cup Flickr photo stream in time for South Africa where fans could post their images. Have you caught your mate in a ridiculous pose and are eager to humiliate him online to loads of strangers? Or maybe you’ve found the perfect pub and fancy spreading the word to other fans? Well now you can! Whatever it is, feel free to add your photos to the FSF’s Flickr feed.

To give you an idea of what we might be after we’ve posted up some of our own pics from the 2006 World Cup where you can see FSF members Kevin Miles hard at work, Peter Daykin preparing dinner, and Ken Malley all set for a big night out.

You can add photos to the stream directly or email them to Free Lions (with a brief explanation!) and we’ll stick them up for you.

Lastly, building on the success of the Free Lions text service at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, we’ll be setting up a similar service for South Africa 2010. Sign up to the Free Lions SMS alerts service and receive all the latest news on travel, security and city info.

As with these things the devil’s in the detail – and we’ve still got to sort that! Join the FSF and we’ll send you our Fan Mail newsletter so you’ll know as soon as that’s ready.
