Huddersfield Town Supporters Association (HTSA) celebrates its 15th year of running this year and it is with great pride we welcome another huge milestone for one of our supporters trusts.

HTSA was originally set up in 2003 as the Huddersfield Town Survival Trust (HTST) when Huddersfield Town faced a crisis by entering into administration. After years of corporate mismanagement the club were on the brink of financial ruin. HTST, along with the help of thousands of fans, stepped up to the rescue and managed to raise enough money to keep the club afloat until a new owner could be found.

HTSA was born out of the experiences of the administration period. Its founding members, several of whom served on the committee of the Survival Trust, were a dedicated core group of determined supporters. They realised that the long-term future of a club depends on the existence of a strong, independent body of supporters who are committed to holding the club board and ownership to account.

This sentiment still stands true in an era of excessive capitalism in the footballing world and thus HTSA continues their great work in representing supporters, campaigning with national governing bodies and ensuring there is a loud voice echoing the founding members’ thoughts that clubs only survive with the help of their supporters.

Huge congratulations to HTSA for all the work and hours they have put in thus far. The next 15 years are looking bright for HTSA.
