If this pre-season friendly is anything to go by, Everton’s Yannick Bolasie is in for a very entertaining year. The French-Congolese winger could have finished off a very smart passing move by the Toffees late on against Preston but got his legs in an almighty mess. Extra points for blocking the follow-up shot, too.
Earlier this month, we told you about the campaign started by ten year old Everton fan Anna Mallanaphy who is calling on the broadcasters to address a fixture clash between the men’s and women’s game that will mean many could miss out on the Women’s FA Cup final.
Basford United’s Slef Galinski scored an astonishing goal against FC United this week and the first of its kind that we can remember – a headed goal from inside his own half, albeit helped by some comically bad goalkeeping. Basford went on to win 3-1.
