Irons Supporting Foodbanks nominated for community awards

Congratulations are in order for FSA associate Irons Supporting Foodbanks (ISF) which has been nominated for two local charity awards.

ISF has been providing crucial support for the east London community for three years and has raised more than £300,000 during the past 12 months alone.

The group was started by John Ratomski and, as well as foodstuffs, it has also delivered clothing and other household supplies for those in need.

The ISF is one of the four nominees for the East London Community Heroes Awards “Outstanding Initiative in Community Cohesion” category.

The winner will be announced on Saturday 1st October.

And last week the group was notified that it was also up for a second award – in the Newham Business Awards 2022 “Civic & Community Engagement” category, to be announced on Thursday 13th October.
