Keeper turns back on pen in protest

This is a story from the FSF archive – the FSF and SD merged to become the FSA in 2019.

If you were Romanian side Vointa Sibiu’s manager you wouldn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Away keeper Remus Danalache was so incensed at the ref’s decision to award a penalty to Petrolul that he turned his back on the resulting penalty in protest. Two teammates had already been sent off and the other eight outfield players had stormed off in a huff. The ref made Petrolul take the spot kick again and guess what Danalache did for an encore?
