Mental health matters: FSA and Mind partnership
The FSA is proud to announce that it has agreed a partnership with the UK’s largest mental health charity, Mind, to promote mental health awareness across the community owned clubs’ network and among FSA staff.
Deputy chief executive, David Rose, will work alongside Andrew Madaras, who is director of community activities at Dunstable Town FC, on a programme which recreates aspects of the club’s #youareenough mental health support model.
The FSA will:
- Promote the work of Mind (and its local networks);
- Raise awareness of Mind’s national mental health campaigns;
- Commit to one fundraising event each season;
- Utilise Mind’s training courses;
- Advocate for the role of a Mental Health First Aider at home matches.
The agreement includes involvement in the #youareenough campaign, whereby each community-owned club is paired with their local Mind charity.
#youareenough is a two-stage mental health awareness programme, with community-owned clubs participating in the first stage, and other FSA member groups in the second stage.
A soft launch takes place at Bury FC’s Family Fun Day this Saturday 21st June marking the club’s month-long mental health awareness campaign.
This will be followed by a formal launch on the weekend of July 12th and 13th, when Bury play Chester, with the men’s teams playing on the Saturday and the women’s teams playing on Sunday.
