#YouAreEnough: Fan-led mental health drive launches this weekend
This weekend the FSA, along with our friends at the national mental health charity Mind, will be launching a new mental health campaign at our community-owned clubs.
As part of our memorandum of understanding with Mind we’re launching #YouAreEnough – a supporter-driven mental health awareness and education programme pioneered at community-owned club Dunstable Town over the past eight years.
#YouAreEnough will be rolled out across the FSA’s community-owned clubs’ network over the course of the season by Andrew Madaras, Dunstable Town’s director of community activities and FSA National Council member. Andrew will be assisted in the delivery of the project by Chris Bryden, Dunstable Town’s mental health ambassador.
The campaign launches at Bury’s Gigg Lane this weekend when Bury take-on fellow community-owned club Chester in two preseason friendlies – kicking off with the men’s teams on Saturday 12th July followed by the women’s teams on Sunday 13th July.
The following weekend #YouAreEnough launches at Clapton Community FC where Dunstable Town are the visitors and then moves to Edgar Street, where Hereford FC take on Leicester City under-21s in a pre-season friendly on Saturday 26th July.
The second stage of the roll-out involves FSA affiliated supporters’ trusts and other member organisations starting next season.
#YouAreEnough is a grassroots, peer-to-peer programme that pairs up community-owned clubs with their local branch of the national Mind charity.
Each club’s designated mental health liaison volunteer will work with their club to promote Mind’s mental health awareness initiatives across the club’s social media platforms as well as develop fundraising schemes for their local Mind charity each season.
Mind’s training scheme can also help club volunteers become mental health first aiders to assist fans at home games.

Andrew said: “We’d like to thank Hayley Jarvis, head of physical activity at Mind, for her support and commitment to the project.”
