Affiliate network voting for new national organisation

At our AGM in the summer, members of the FSF, along with Supporters Direct, voted to set up a new unified national football supporters’ organisation.

Notice of SD General Meeting

Following the Supporters Direct membership’s decision to vote to merge with the Football Supporters’ Federation, we are now in a position to proceed with a vote to transfer assets from SD to a new organisation formed with the Football Supporters’ Federation which will initially be a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG). Work is continuing to form a Community Benefits Society as the vehicle for the new organisation as advised in the statement sent by the Interim Board on 10th October 2018.

I looked across to my left to the Leicester supporters in the away section and they were indeed wearing the same colour shirts. Supporters Trust help raised nearly £60,000 for Sean Cox

Liverpool FC supporters trust Spirit of Shankly have been instrumental in encouraging and inspiring supporters to donate to a funding initiative for Sean Cox, a Liverpool fan seriously assaulted before a Champions League Game in April.

The first to the one thousandth

At supporter-owned Exeter City’s match against Swindon Town on Saturday 13th October (happily won 2-0 by City), a presentation of an inscribed silver salver was made by Nick Hawker, Exeter City Supporters’ Trust Chairman, to former player Steve Flack as scorer of the very first goal by Exeter City FC under supporter ownership – against Halifax Town on 9th August 2003.

FSF Awards 2018 shortlists announced

The Football Supporters’ Federation is pleased to announce the shortlists for the 2018 FSF Awards in partnership with Virgin Media – voting is open now, and fans can back their favourites at www.fsf.org.uk/vote. Ninety six shortlisted candidates will battle it out across 16 categories, recognising everything from the best players of 2018 to fans’ favourite away days.

Hull City refuse to meet club’s major fan group

Hull City have excluded the largest democratic group at the club from its fan engagement meetings this month, contravening national guidelines on supporter dialogue.

And finally… tears in the rain

Kawasaki Frontale managed to go 3-1 down at home to Vissel Kobe this week thanks in part to this comical own goal from the extremely unlucky Tasaki Nara. In the end it contributed to a barnstormer as Frontale came back to win 5-3.
