The FSA has issued the following statement following today’s story in the Times on FIFA’s plans to sell stakes in the World Cup:

After FIFA clamped down on the “One Love” armbands at the 2022 World Cup, various national teams have been exploring ways to support the LGBT+ community during the tournament – most notably Germany before their game against Japan yesterday.

Earlier today the FA announced that the England team captain would not be wearing the “One Love” armband in the World Cup following threats of disciplinary action from FIFA. The FSA has issued the followings statement in response:
